Three officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were taken into police custody on Wednesday for shooting at a group of college students, injuring two.
The officers reportedly were dispatched to a college in Abuja to maintain security in the school during an examination. It is still unclear what caused the officers to open fire on the teens.
Chaos ensued as students of the school went wild and vandalized three patrol vehicles of the NSCDC parked on the school’s premises. The police arrived on time to restore calm and stop further damage. The injured students are receiving medical attention.
