Tinubu has improved Nigeria’s security: Official

Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on media and publicity, has credited his boss, Tinubu, with gains in reversing violent crime. In a “The national security situation has evolved to the extent that it is no longer the primary talking point in the country,” the government official said televised interview on Sunday night.

Indeed, Nigeria’s military no longer turns a blind eye to crimes by terrorists, referred to as bandits by officials and Nigerian media, as was the case during the past administration of Muhammadu Buhari who left office in May. But the terrorists are still having a field day in the Northwest and North Central States. TruthNigeria reports these catastrophic attacks with security alerts warning of potential attacks in Plateau State.

The high rate of casualties of banditry across the counties that used to flood the cover pages of national newspapers, Ngelale said, has drastically dropped. “We have come a long way from that. Right now, you are not seeing those numbers now,” he said.

Ezinwanne Onwuka reports for TruthNigeria from Abuja.
