Bandits raid Kaduna village, abduct 3

The Dan-Honu II community in Chikun County of Kaduna State came under a heavy attack by bandits of the Fulani tribe on Tuesday night. The men in black went door to door abducting residents, forcefully breaking down doors to enter the houses.

A newly-wed couple who got married on November 26, the religious leader (Imam) of the community, his wife and three children, including a 10-month-old baby, were taken hostage, according to local media.

“They beat the 10-month-old baby because he was crying. They even threatened to kill him, saying that his cry was disturbing them,” the Imam, Malam Suleiman, narrated after he escaped from the criminals. Suleiman’s wife was set free unhurt because of the uncontrollable cries of the infant.

The newlywed bride was also abandoned in the bush because she was slowing down the train. Thereafter, the bandits were left with the groom and the two teenage sons of the Imam. Authorities are yet to either confirm or debunk the report.
