A police station in Mairari, Konduga County in Borno State came under a heavy terrorist attack on Monday night, but the policemen repelled the attackers.
Police sources reported a gun battle between the police and the Islamic State of the West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, who retreated after a 15-minute fire fight.
The terrorists stole two rifles belonging to the police and damaged the police armored personnel carrier (APC).
“The APC was damaged as we were chasing the terrorists toward their withdrawal route,” a source told Zagazola Makama.
