A woman and her three children, including a six-month-old baby, were kidnapped by bandits who attacked an estate in Nigeria’s capital Abuja on Sunday night.
As per The Punch, the bandits struck between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. local time and operated freely for about an hour. The sporadic gunshots by the gunmen sent residents into a state of panic.
A resident who spoke to The Punch said kidnapping becomes rife in the area in December usually because of inadequate security. “This kidnapping has become a regular occurrence here every December,” he said. Security agencies are mum on the issue.
