After Boderi, Two More Bandits Fall in Ambush

Baldo and Baban Yara, two bandit kingpins, reportedly have been slain as the Nigerian military continues to pound the bandits.

Baldo and Baban Yara were killed on Saturday (Feb. 24) in a deadly military operation. They went down along with 28 of their fighters in Zamfara and Katsina States.

The bandit lords, local media say, are involved in trafficking abducted hostages among various bandit groups in Zamfara and Katsina states.

A military source told the Nigerian media that the aggressive onslaught on the outlaws was “to rid the region of criminal elements.”

The elimination of Baldo and Baban Yara comes on the heels of the killing of Boderi Isyaku, a notorious bandit leader famed for the abduction of 39 students from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization in Afaka, Igabi county of Kaduna State on March 11, 2021.

Ezinwanne Onwuka reports for TruthNigeria from Abuja.
