There was a deadly face-off between two rival bandit groups in Tsafe county of Zamfara State on Sunday [Feb. 25]. An unspecified number of bandits from both sides were killed in the clash.
As reported by Zagazola Makama, the gunfight started at 7:00 a.m. local time and lasted for several hours.
The Chad Basin security and counter-insurgency expert said the clash was between the Kachallah Mai Yankuzu and Dogo Balli gangs who terrorize Gusau and Tsafe counties.
“Dogo Balli mobilized his loyal fighters to launch a surprise attack on the hideout of the rival gang,” the local media said. What led to the bloody encounter has not been reported.
