Terrorist Killed During Military Raid on Forest Hideout

The Nigerian Army (NA) on Tuesday smoked out terrorists in Yadi Forest in Kidandan, 40 miles away from Kaduna State’s capital city, Kaduna.

The “deep clearance operations”, according to the NA spokesman Major General Onyema Nwachukwu on Wednesday, led to the destruction of the terrorists’ shelters.

One terrorist fighter was killed in the heavy firefight between the soldiers and the outlaws. Other gang members subsequently took to their heels to avoid meeting a similar fate.

The Nigerian troops seized various arms and ammunition, and property of the terrorists including three motorbikes, two AK-47 rifles, leg and hand chains used on hostages, two national identity cards, among others. Nwachukwu said the search for the fleeing terrorists is still on. The location raided is in the bandit-controlled north-western perimeter of Kaduna State bordering Katsina State. Numerous bandit gangs shelter in the Kwiambana Game Reserve 30 miles west of Kidandan.

Ezinwanne Onwuka reports for TruthNigeria from Abuja.
