Gunmen reportedly have abducted the deputy director of nursing services and a security guard at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Enugu State.
The gunmen trailed the unnamed woman to the hospital’s gate on Tuesday morning. She, along with a security officer, was forced into a vehicle and the assailants sped off.
“She was coming in in the morning to set up the theatre for the surgery and she was accosted by armed kidnappers who overpowered her, and whisked her away,” Boniface Uchelue, the public relations officer of the hospital, told local media.
The nurse’s SUV vehicle was perforated by bullets. Uchelue said the hospital management has informed law enforcement agencies about the abduction.
