Nigerian Air Force Claims to Kill Scores of Terrorists in Katsina and Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted lethal airstrikes on the enclaves of two dreaded terrorists in separate attacks in Katsina and Zamfara States.

The first strike on Tuesday targeted the notorious Modi Modi, south of Tsaskiya in Safana County of Katsina.

“The strikes were prompted by painstaking intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance operations conducted in the targeted vicinity where clusters of huts were observed amid rocky terrain,” NAF spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gwabket said on Thursday.

Dozens of “armed terrorists loitering among the huts” were killed with a few survivors. NAF could not confirm if Modi Modi was among the slain terrorists.

The second strike on Wednesday was on the stronghold of another notorious terrorist, Alhaji Na-Shama, in Ussu village of Birnin Magaji county in Zamfara.

Gwabket said reliable human intelligence confirmed the elimination of several of Na-Shama’s fighters and the “total obliteration of his camp and logistics”, but it remains unknown whether Na-Shama was among the killed victims.
