Woman Arrested in Northern Nigeria With Ammunition Headed for Terrorists

Security operatives in Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria, have arrested a woman in possession of live ammunition, sparking suspicions of a potential link to criminal or terrorist activities.

The woman identified as Aisha Abubakar was nabbed during an interception at a checkpoint in the Katsina metropolis on Monday. The discovery came during a standard luggage check, with authorities finding the ammunition hidden within Abubakar’s belongings.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that Abubakar initially denied any wrongdoing. But after questioning, she confessed to transporting the ammunition from Nassarawa State to a terrorist group operating in Katsina.

Zagazola Makama’s report further revealed that Abubakar intended to deliver the ammunition to Yan Tumaki village, located in Dan Musa County of Katsina. Authorities are currently investigating the source of the ammunition and the woman’s potential connections to criminal or terrorist networks.
