The Kano State government has revoked the accreditation of 14 journalists covering its activities, citing undisclosed reasons.
The decision was announced Monday in the Government House press crew’s WhatsApp group, with the revocation taking effect Tuesday.
Sanusi Bature, spokesperson for Governor Abba Yusuf, directed the affected journalists’ employers to assign replacements.
The statement identified the affected journalists, including Sani Suraj Abubakar, Adamu Dabo, and Nasiru Danhaki.
Bature said the affected journalists are to “report back to their respective organizations for re-assignment.”
“This is not by any way the end of our relationship. We will continue to work as professional colleagues at both official and personal levels,” the statement noted.
