A Nigerian federal court has postponed its ruling on a bail application filed by Tigran Gambaryan, a detained executive of Binance Holdings Limited. The ruling was delayed due to the absence of the presiding judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, who was attending a seminar at the National Judicial Institute.
Gambaryan, who has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since late February, is facing allegations of fraud and money laundering. His lawyers have argued that he should be released on bail due to his deteriorating health condition.
However, the EFCC has opposed the bail application, claiming that Gambaryan is receiving adequate medical care in detention and that he has rejected offers of specialized treatment at the State House Clinic in Abuja.
The court has now scheduled to deliver its ruling on Gambaryan’s bail application on October 11.
