The Nigerian police have apprehended 10,852 individuals nationwide for various crimes over the past three months, Inspector General Olukayode Egbetokun announced Tuesday during a meeting with senior officers in Abuja.
These arrests were made between July and September.
“The arrests and detention were carried out between July and September. Within the period, a total of 416 arms, 3,672 ammunition, and 178 vehicles were recovered, while 369 kidnapped victims were rescued,” Egbetokun said.
The suspects were detained in connection with crimes such as kidnapping, banditry, and armed robbery.
