Armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Kungurki community in Kaura Namoda County in Zamfara State late Saturday night, killing an elderly man and abducting 13 residents, including a two-month-old baby and his mother.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the assailants attacked the village under the cover of darkness, firing
sporadically to instill fear. In addition to the abductions, the bandits looted several shops, stealing food, household supplies, and other valuables.
“It was a terrifying experience,” a resident said. “They took women, children, and an elderly man was killed in cold blood.”
Details on the attack, as reported by Zagazola Makama, remain scarce. The attack has further escalated concerns over security in Zamfara, a state in Northwestern Nigeria frequently targeted by armed groups.
