A crackdown on a gang of bandits operating around the Dansadau axis in Maru County of Zamfara State by troops of the Nigerian Army dubbed “Operation Hadarin Daji” on December 17 led to the successful rescue of 13 abducted victims.
After sighting the troops, terrorists fled, abandoning their hostages. All rescued victims are indigenes of Mutunji village of Dansadau Emirate in Maru County of Zamfara. The military handed them over to state authorities to unite them with their families.
At Zurmi county, the troops cleared a terrorists’ hideout at Gidan Jaja village and arrested suspected 11 terrorist agents at neighboring Kwanar Boko village. The agents were nabbed on their way to supply 127 bags of grains in two trucks to a terrorist kingpin Halilu Sububu.
