Kidnappers Murder 2 Abducted Students Amid Talks With Parents

Two students abducted from the Confluence University of Science and Technology; Kogi State on May 9 have been killed.

Authorities confirmed the deaths on Sunday, with Kogi State Police Commissioner Bertrand Onuoha expressing deep sorrow and assuring the imminent capture of the assailants.

TruthNigeria reported that federal security forces teamed up with citizen guards to rescue some of the abducted students a few hours after the school attack. Negotiations were still ongoing between the abductors and the parents for the release of the remaining students when the news of the murder of two victims broke.

Local media reported a nonprofit organization Education for All saying that both students killed were freshmen. The state and federal authorities have yet to address the situation.
