Nigerian Defense Minister Badaru Abubakar has instructed the military to immediately apprehend notorious bandit leader Bello Turji. The marching order was given on Thursday during a visit to the One Brigade Headquarters in Gusau, Zamfara State, where Abubakar received briefings on ongoing military operations.
Abubakar reported that President Bola Tinubu is pleased with the recent progress made in combating banditry in Zamfara and the Northwest region. He stated, “President Bola Tinubu has recognized some level of improvement in the operation against terrorists in the region over the last few months.”
However, he acknowledged that challenges persist, as bandits continue to terrorize local communities. “President Tinubu has asked me to thank you and to also encourage you to do more in ending insecurity in these operational areas. He is ready to supply everything you need to eliminate insecurity in the Northwest and across Nigeria,” he said.
Abubakar ended his address with a bold call to action: “Please get me Turji, dead or alive.”
