Residents of Benue State, have commended TruthNigeria News Medium for it’s pivotal roles, leading to safety of their people, land, reduction of number of attacks and casualties
Benue is one of the North Central Nigeria states referred to as the Middle Belt, engulfed with a 13-year-bloody-war, orchestrated by Fulani Ethnic Militia (FEM), leading to loss of thousands of lives and wanton destruction of property worth Billions of Naira.
Other states or areas in the Middle Belt which faced similar crisis, described as a Jihad War include; Plateau and Southern part of Kaduna State.
Benue State is inhabited by the Tiv, the 4th largest Ethnic Group in Nigeria, the Idoma, Igede, Etulo and other minority tribes. The people are 95% Christians and 90% Catholic, with Farming and Fishing as their major occupations.
It is made up of 23 Counties and is divided into 3 parts (A, B and C) in what is referred to as Geopolitical Zones or Senatorial Districts, similar to all other 35 states in Nigeria
On the other hands, the Fulani, a predominantly Muslim group known across West Africa for cattle-herding and involvement in regional jihad wars, have been linked to thousands of massacres in Nigeria. According to the Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa, the Fulani marauders have caused more than 50,000 deaths in Nigeria during the last four years.
Benue Residents commend TruthNigeria
Mr Theophilus Ahangba Ayati, a Director in the Ministry of Information, Benue State and a Community Leader of Ayati, one of the most devastated communities by the atrocious activities of the Fulani Ethnic Militia, FEM in collaboration with local Tiv Ethnic Militia, TEM in Ukum county said, words alone are not enough to appreciate the efforts of TruthNigeria Media Outfit in restoring security to their land.

Benue Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are not left out in appreciating TruthNigeria as they commended the emerging Media Juggernaut for drawing the attention of the world to their plights.
Speaking on behalf of Benue IDPs in an interview with TruthNigeria Correspondent, Woman Leader of Ichwa IDPs Camp in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital, Mrs Mimi Kiva, appreciated the management of the Media House for being there for the vulnerable persons in Nigeria
“Thank you, Judd Saul, thank you, Douglas Burton, we received all your messages you sent to us through your representatives. We are waiting for you to come and repair our broken toilet, houses, fence, rescue our missing child and bring us out of this pathetic situation we found ourselves”, Mrs Kiva said.
A Security Expert and Former Deputy Chairman of Agatu County Chairman, Hon John Anthony Ikwulono in his submission, thanked TruthNigeria for the wonderful work it has done so far.
