Sources in the security community of Plateau State Nigeria have warned that killer herdsmen in collaboration with bandit terrorists from Western states including Zamfara have planned to attack mining camps in Central Plateau, in Riyom County, 30 miles southeast of Jos. The reported targets are at the towns of Jol, Rim and Wereng of Riyom County. All these towns have been the site of massed attacks that have claimed the lives of scores of citizens during the previous 21 days. Thus, security experts urge that all mining sites should be closed to avoid casualties.
