●Biden Lauds Tinubu at G20 Summit, hails Abuja’s economic reforms.

President Joe Biden glad-handed President Bola Tinubu in New Delhi Sunday in what could have been called a mutual admiration society  on the sidelines of the G20 in New Delhi, India. Both aged leaders are trailing allegations of corruption but full of confidence that their inflationary spending agendas will lead to tides that will lift all boats.  Both presidents have initiated reforms that have sent gas prices soaring.

Biden welcomed the Tinubu Administration’s steps to reform Nigeria’s economy and thanked Tinubu for his strong leadership as the chair of the Economic Community of West African States  [ECOWAS] to defend and preserve democracy just days after a military coups in Gabon, which would mark the 8th government takeover in West Africa since 2020.

●Nigeria’s invitation to the G20 Summit is a recognition of Nigeria’s important global role as Africa’s largest democracy and economy.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu’s election is being challenged in court for vote-rigging and regularities linked to claims of falsification of his educational credentials.

U.S. court to hear Atiku’s Abubakar’s suit on Tinubu’s varsity records on Tuesday.

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois will on Tuesday (Sept. 12) hear a suit filed by Nigeria’s 2023 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar on the release of President Bola Tinubu’s academic records from Chicago State University (CSU).

Atiku seeks to compel the university to present documents or information on President Tinubu or to permit inspection of the school premises in a civil action. Tinubu’s academic records have been a subject of controversy for three decades. The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois is scheduled to hear the fresh suit filed by Atiku Abubakar  and  is one of three challenges to the election victory of Tinubu on Feb. 25, 2023. A Nigerian Court ruled Sept. 6 against Atiku and two other presidential challengers who charged the Tinubu campaign with voting irregularities

The one-time vice-president of Nigeria believes that the information he seeks from the American university will boost his chances of overturning the September 6 judgment of the presidential election tribunal at the Supreme Court.

●Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya loses UFC Middleweight belt to America’s Sean Strickland.

Sean Strickland achieved one of the more unexpected title-fight upsets in recent memory Saturday when he dethroned Israel Adesanya in the UFC 293 headliner.

Israel Adesanya’s head coach, Eugene Bareman, is hoping the UFC books an immediate rematch between Adesanya  and Strickland, as he’s confident they can get the belt back. He already expressed his interest to UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard.

Bareman believes Adesanya wasn’t on his A-game, and is sure they can beat Strickland even if they fought immediately.
