Bandits assassinate traditional ruler in Southeast Nigeria

Unknown killers have murdered the king of the Otulu community in Ezinihitte-Mbaise County in Imo State, Southeast Nigeria, His Royal Highness, Joe Achulor.  The King was murdered a few hours after abducting him from his palace on Saturday morning, according to The Cable.  The killers dropped the corpse by the roadside in a neighbouring village, Aboh-Mbaise and disappeared.

The murderers did not request money to free the monarch as is the norm, as per The Cable, therefore the motive may be linked to terrorism or a private vendetta. Police authorities said a “high power” team is on the lookout for the criminals.
