A gang of marauding Boko Haram camel-riding insurgents killed and decapitated 11 woodcutters in Bale, a remote village in Damboa County of Borno State late Sunday (Nov. 26), according to Punch.
The killers surrounded the site where the laborers worked. Pleas by the workers for their lives to be spared fell on deaf ears, a source told Punch.
“We do not think any of them survived the attack. Their bodies were badly dismembered, and we found them in a pool of blood as all parts of their bodies were cut into pieces,” a citizen guard said. However, five laborers are still missing, and it is not yet certain whether they escaped during the horrendous attack or were abducted.
