Police authorities in Katsina State, yesterday confirmed the death of three notorious bandits’ leaders whose gangs terrorize Jibia County of the Northwest State and its environs. The bandits’ lords, called Bala Wuta, Dogo Na Sahura and Hassan Bukuru, were slain Saturday (Nov. 25).
Police spokesperson Abubakar Aliyu said, via a press statement, that the bandits opened fire on some policemen and local citizen guards on a routine security patrol. “The officers valiantly returned fire, forcing the terrorists to abandon their evil plan and flee into the nearby bush,” said Aliyu.
Other members of the gang narrowly escaped death, albeit with wounds from gunshots. “Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects as the investigation proceeds,” the police spokesperson added.
