Police authorities in Gombe State were taken aback on Wednesday when 50 bandits reported to the police headquarters to surrender their weapons and renounce crime.
The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Usman, received the repentant hoodlums with open arms. He commended them for taking the bold step to shun crime.
The former outlaws were a gang terrorizing the Bolari area of Gombe. They pledged their preparedness to support law and order in the state.
Usman said he would go after rebel groups with love. According to him, the bandits need “love and encouragement, not the use of force.”
