Bandits kill abducted Nigerian lecturer despite collecting N2 million ransom

Armed bandits have killed one Malam Nasiru Muhammad Anka, a lecturer at Zamfara State College of Education after collecting N2 million ($2,533) ransom for his release.

Anka was abducted three weeks ago at his residence alongside several others. The bandits contacted their hostages’ families to demand outrageous ransoms and raining threats.

His family was able to raise N2 million of the undisclosed requested amount. Yet, the criminals ruthlessly clubbed him to death.

“The bandits kept telling him that his people have money, and if they love him, they should bring the money else they’ll kill him,” a woman who escaped from the kidnappers’ den narrated. “That was how they killed him after collecting the N2 million that they claimed was not enough or up to their target.”
