Fire reportedly gutted the Borno State governor’s main office on Tuesday morning.
The Governor, Babagana Zulum, was in his second office at the Musa Usman Secretariat when the fire broke out, according to Zagazola Makama.
The security details at the Government House gate barred staff and the press from entering the building, presumably due to safety and security concerns. Emergency firefighters trooped to the office building to put off the fire.
The fire was contained, but the extent of damage could not be confirmed. Zagazola Makama did not say if any casualty was recorded.
