A team of citizen guards descended ruthlessly on a bandit after he was caught during an armed robbery operation on Tuesday night. The sole robber, SaharaReporters learned, was a member of a bandit gang causing terror in Gandu village in North Central Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
A source who spoke to the online newspaper shared photos of the criminal seated on the bare ground. His hands and feet were tied, and his neck bleeding presumably due to severe beatings.
After an attack which took a heavy toll on the community last week, the villagers were on the watch for the gang. “The suspect was arrested when he came to the community and tried to steal last night (Tuesday night),” a villager told SaharaReporters on Wednesday, “Not known to him that we (the residents) had been on alert for them since the time of the last attack.”
The villagers, afterwards, handed the culprit over to the authorities to face the wrath of the law.
