Nigerian military claims 174 terrorists killed in one week

The Nigerian military reported Saturday that a minimum of 174 terrorists were killed during different operations across Nigeria last week. The new numbers posted by the Army greatly surpass the claimed results of the Nigerian military during any previous week under the administration of former president Muhammadu Buhari. The sustained onslaught also led to the arrest of 204 bandits and the rescue of 234 captives, according to Army spokesman Major Gen. Edward Buba, Army Spokesman. The new numbers were partly based on military “battle damage assessments” – not verifiable body counts documented with photos that could be confirmed by TruthNigeria.

Director of Defence Media Operations, said at a press briefing on Friday that 91 terrorists, of whom 13 were adult males, 35 were adult females, and 43 were underaged children, surrendered to troops between November 22 and 28, according to Major General Buba.

Several hideouts of bandits and ISWAP/Boko Haram in Niger, Benue, Plateau and Taraba, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara States; and Borno and Yobe States were burned down.
