The Nigeria Police Force headquartered in Bauchi State on Wednesday announced the killing of six bandit-gang members in Ningi county of the State. The six-man gang was responsible for the insecurity nightmares in all the villages in Ningi.
In recent weeks, several persons were butchered in the locality after a district head was gruesomely murdered in July.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the bandits, within two weeks, invaded four villages around Ningi, including Bukutumbe, Iyayi, Kayadda and Gamji, where they shot four people and killed one member of the vigilante at Bukutumbe,” Auwal Musa Muhammad, Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, told Daily Trust.
The police teamed up civilian guards and marched to the bandits’ secret camp on December 26, 2023, where the outlaws were gunned down. AK-47 rifles, 55 live ammunition, the sum of N4.5 million ($5,025.13), and one Golf 3 vehicle were seized from the camp, according to the Police Commissioner.
