Bandits have taken over many schools in Katsina State with several others shutting down because of the alarming insecurity that threatens education and raises the number of out-of-school children in the Northwest State.
“Many of our frontline local government areas have had their schools closed due to banditry, and in some cases, schools have become dens for bandits,” Governor Dikko Radda said last weekend.
Despite the unchecked activities of bandits in his terrain, Gov. Radda assured that he will not relent until the terrorists are flushed out of the state, and schoolchildren return to the classroom.
“There is no education without security,” the Governor said. He said his administration has established a vigilante group, Katsina State Community Watch Corps, whose mission is to “fight insecurity and create a foundation for our youth to learn and thrive.”
