The leader of a bandit gang behind several attacks on defenceless citizens and abductions in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria called Janari is dead.
The terrorist kingpin was killed alongside dozens of his fighters on Jan. 18 by troops of the Nigerian military anti-terrorism squad, according to a statement by Edward Gabkwet, the spokesman of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on Sunday.
Gabkwet said Janari and his battalion of militia were spotted near Gadar Katako village in Igabi county of Kaduna State, plotting the next attack on locals. On getting the intelligence, the troops swiftly struck the area, killing Janari and some of his men.
The late Janari and his gang, the NAF said, were also responsible for attacks and abductions on the highway linking Kaduna and Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja.
