An armed gang has killed two officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) identified as Isa Nafi’u and Garba Haruna Fana.
The officers were gunned down during a banditry attack on the immigration post at Garin Garba in Northwest Kebbi State on Monday, January 15.
The NIS’ spokesperson in the State, Abdullahi Isa told the Nigerian press on Wednesday that three officers were on duty when the bandits struck. The third officer fortunately escaped unharmed.
The State Governor, Nasir Idris expressed dismay over the demise of the officers while assuring that his government was doing everything possible to ensure the protection of lives and property of people across the state.
