Ending Insecurity Remains Tinubu’s Cardinal Agenda: Nigeria’s VP Shettima

Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria, has reminded Nigerians that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government is unrelenting in the efforts to root out terrorists in the country.

Alarming escalation of attacks, abductions for ransom and frequent killings across Nigeria have left people feeling more unsafe, showing the utter failure of the Nigerian authorities to protect lives and properties.

“Ending insecurity is the cardinal agenda of the government. As such, we have not downplayed the foundational role of security in governance matters,” Shettima said on Wednesday.

The VP believes the heartbreaking stories of devastating attacks that flood the news would be a thing of the past soon if every hand is on deck. He called on “all relevant partners and stakeholders to join in this work” of finding peace for Nigeria.
