A chilling attack on motorists and travellers by some unknown gunmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Wednesday led to the abduction of three people.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to local media, the gunmen blocked the road leading to the Obiri-Ikwerre area from the Port Harcourt International Airport.
The Travellers’ journey on the route turned into a nightmare when three occupants of a taxi were forcefully taken hostage by the assailants amidst indiscriminate shootings that provoked terror in people.
The eyewitness narrated that the gunmen attacked about ten cars and forcibly took some people away.
The police on Thursday confirmed the dreadful incident and assured the public of immediate action to rescue the victims and bring the culprits to justice.
