Troops of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) eliminated three gang commanders of the Islamic State of West Africa (ISWAP) alongside scores of militia in a major onslaught in Marte and Kukawa areas of terrorist-ravaged Borno State.
The terrorist kingpins called Abou Maimuna, Abou Zahra and Commander Saleh were slain on Jan. 10 after the Nigerian military Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft sighted the outlaws in a canoe.
The military fired a missile from a drone, causing the canoe to explode. None of the terrorists survived the explosion, according to Zagazola Makama,
a counter-insurgency expert.
