Police authorities in Nigeria said on Jan. 4 that 11 days after the massacre of 295 persons over Christimas holidays in Plateau only eight persons have been apprehended. The devastating attacks rocked 38 villages in Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and Mangu counties of Plateau State between Dec. 23 and Dec. 30. TruthNigeria posted the first complete story on Christmas Day.
President Bola Tinubu instructed security agencies to “scour every stretch of the zone and apprehend the culprits”, and his Vice Kashim Shettima stressed that the government would ensure that the “perpetrators of these mindless killings face the full force of the law.”
Police spokesperson in Plateau State, Alfred Alabo told the Nigerian press that the eight arrested persons are still under investigation.
The sleeping Christian villages were overrun by a battalions of 3,000 or more terrorists, according to TruthNigeria on Jan. 2. The attack drew condemnation locally and globally. Several security agents consulted by TruthNigeria have said the numbers reported are overstated. However, confidential reports from terrorist leaders assessing the achievements and failures and distributed on Dec. 26, report that 1,210 mercenaries were assigned to 22 communities in Bokkos alone. TruthNigeria confidently projects today that with consideration of sacked communities in Mangu and Barkin Ladi counties the attacking force likely was more than 2,000 assassins, but there is no compelling proof that the number was 3,000.
