Nigerian Troops Eliminate Terrorist Gangs in Katsina and Zamfara

Troops of the Nigerian Army in the Northwest region combined with other military units cracked down on a terror group in Batsari and Safana counties of Katsina State on Jan. 3.

The soldiers stormed the enclaves of the terrorists, killing 10 outlaws while others retreated in disarray. The troops seized the properties of the terrorists including fabricated guns, military uniforms and four motorbikes.

While the operation in Katsina was underway, troops 81.34 miles away in Zamfara State were on a search and rescue operation in Dansadau and Dandalla villages in Maru county.

The troops descended upon terrorist camps in the communities and rescued nine hostages: five women and four children. The rebel gang abandoned the hostages and fled after they were overpowered by the soldiers.
