Pope Francis has prayed for Nigeria over the spate of killings and insurgent activities by terror groups led by conflicting jihadist gangs in Northeast Nigeria that have grown worse in recent times.
The Pope in his homily on December 31 expressed sorrow over the heart-breaking atrocities in Plateau State since Christmas Eve. TruthNigeria first reported the massive unhindered attacks.
“Unfortunately, the celebration of Christmas in Nigeria was marked by serious violence in the State of Plateau, with many victims. I am praying for them and their families. May God free Nigeria from these atrocities!” the Pope said.
In a post on his official X page, Pope Francis added, “Let us #PrayTogether for the victims of the severe violence in Nigeria’s Plateau State. May God free Nigeria from these horrors!”
