A Nigerian army general reported on Wednesday that the battalion of rebels threatening the Northeast and Northwest flank of Nigeria have been knocked out of their various camps.
Major General Kevin Aligbe, commander of the Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC) in Niger State, said the successful crackdown operations are a testament to the military’s commitment to eliminate every security threat in the country.
“These achievements and successes have been widely recognized by the Federal Government and well-meaning Nigerians and even the international community,” General Aligbe said.
He acknowledged that there were still pockets of insecurity in the country, especially in Northcentral Niger State, but assured that the armed gangs will be brought to their knees.
