The newly-posted police commissioner in Ekiti State, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, assumed office on Tuesday with a warning to criminals to steer clear of the territory.
Addressing local media upon arrival at Ekiti State Police headquarters, Adeniran said his deployment was a call to serve given the upswing in insecurity.
Last week, TruthNigeria reported the assassination of two traditional rulers along with the abduction of schoolchildren in the Southwest State.
The new Commissioner of Police said he would go after “those with weapons” even as he implored them to turn themselves in.
“I am here, and I am in charge, those with weapons should submit them because I will come after them,” CP Adeniran stated.
