Two teenage sisters, aged 16 and 14, have been abducted by armed men in the Guita community, Chikakore, located in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja.
The six-man gang struck at about 11:25 p.m. local time on January 28 despite the presence of military and police patrols in the area.
Heading straight to the house of their target, they seized the man’s three children, two daughters and a son, leading them through the nearby forests and hills to an unknown destination.
But along the line, the abductors sent back the boy bearing news: the family is to raise N30 million for the freedom of the girls, an anonymous source told Sahara Reporters.
Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is under siege as a detailed report by TruthNigeria reveals. In the past two months, more than 70 persons have been kidnapped and no fewer than three others killed by unidentified gunmen, according to the report.
The escalating cases of abduction and killings go on despite the setting up of a Special Intervention Squad meant to tackle terrorism in the city by the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police, Olukayode Egbetokun.
