Locals Desert Village On Sighting A Convoy of Armed Militia

Fear gripped the residents of Janjala and Gidan-Makeri communities in Kagarko County of Kaduna State on Sunday, January 28 when they sighted a motorbike convoy of bandits heading towards them.

One after the other, the locals packed their treasured possessions and fled to nearby Kagarko town to avoid witnessing a violent attack.

The villages were attacked earlier on Saturday, January 27. At least 15 locals were abducted and a man along with his son, aged 16, were slaughtered.

Still dressed in sorrow, the sight of bandits swarming towards the villages the next day provoked panic and locals took to their heels. The bandits were up to one hundred, according to Daily Trust.

The local media reported that the locals misinterpreted the movement of bandits who were passing through their villages to nearby Jere.

Ezinwanne Onwuka reports for TruthNigeria from Abuja.
