Minister Places N20m Bounty On Abuja’s Wanted Kidnap Kingpins

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has pledged a N20 million reward for anybody who would provide information that could lead to the arrest of two dreaded kidnap gang leaders.

Wike charged the police to apprehend the criminals dead or alive. He gave the order on Wednesday when he witnessed the parade of arrested 15 kidnapping suspects.

“You said there are two suspected criminals on the run? Let me put money on their heads. Wherever they are, send your men out there, I will give them N20 million. Go and fish them out, wherever they are. I want to see them dead or alive,” the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted the Minister as saying.

The arrested suspects were nabbed on February 11 (eight suspects) and February 13 (seven suspects) in different areas of Nigeria’s capital city Abuja.

“The suspects confessed to using toy guns and knives to scare their victims to illegally obtain from them,” said the FCT police chief, Benneth Igweh.

Ezinwanne Onwuka reports for TruthNigeria from Abuja.
