Nigeria Reports 15 Terrorist Sponsors for Sanctions

The Nigerian government has reportedly uncovered nine persons and six street forex traders who finance terrorism in the country. Prominent among them is Tukur Mamu, a journalist in Kaduna, who is still being prosecuted for his involvement in the Abuja–Kaduna train attack in March 2022.

Mamu is said to have received and delivered ransom payments of over US$200,000 to the radicalized Muslim terrorists to free the hostages of the Abuja–Kaduna train attack, according to a document sent to the Punch.

The document also mentions a person linked to the horrible June 5, 2022 attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in the city of Owo in Ondo State and the attack on Kuje prison on July 5, 2022. Another was an expert in locally made bombs and was among the hardened criminals who fled Kuje prison during the 2022 prison break.

The report by the Punch says every person or company named in the document would face sanctions by the authorities, including the freezing of their assets and funds in banks.

Ezinwanne Onwuka reports for TruthNigeria from Abuja.
