Nigerian Armed Forces Raid Headquarters of Insurgents in Southeast Nigeria, Kill 20 Militia

A joint task force of Nigerian security forces comprising the army, police, secret police, and paramilitary corps have cleared the military headquarters of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) insurgents in the Southeast region, killing 20 IPOB militants.

The insurgents’ stronghold is in Mother Valley, located between the counties of Orsu in Imo and Ihiala in Anambra in Nigeria. The camp, authorities said on Sunday, was well concealed with foliage that affords the criminals cover to prevent monitoring and detection from air surveillance.

The operation took place last Thursday. Photographs and videos shared by the Nigerian Army on social media show the ruins of tents, remains of IPOB militia headquarters, offices, logistics bases, temples and altars used for occult practices.

The destruction left by the armed forces has freed the towns of Ihiteukwa, Eke Ututu, Ihittenansa, Orsumoghu and Lilu in Imo state from the terror imposed by the militia gang.
