Nigeria’s Amusan Claims Historic Third Straight 100m Hurdles Gold at African Games

Nigerian sprint hurdler Tobi Amusan continued her dominance in Africa, securing a remarkable third consecutive gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the ongoing African Games in Ghana. The race, held on Wednesday, saw Amusan clock an impressive time of 12.89 seconds.

Amusan’s victory wasn’t without its initial hiccup. The first race attempt witnessed a false start scare, which could have resulted in her disqualification. However, the Nigerian hurdler remained composed and returned even stronger in the restarted race, leaving her competitors in the dust.

This win further cements Amusan’s status as the queen of African hurdling. With three consecutive African Games gold medals to her name, she has solidified her position as a force to be reckoned with on the continental stage.
