Dozens Abducted in Brutal Raid on Angwar Danko Village, Kaduna

A brazen attack by bandits has plunged Angwar Danko village in Kaduna state into fear and uncertainty. On Wednesday evening at about 6:00 p.m. local time, a large group of armed assailants descended upon the community, firing shots indiscriminately.

The armed bandits kidnapped a significant number of villagers, mostly men. Witnesses reported heavy gunfire during the attack, with the terrified victims then forced on foot into a surrounding forest.

State Assembly member Yahaya Musa Dan Salio confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, expressing serious concern for the abductees’ well-being. Though exact numbers were not reported, Salio estimates “dozens” were taken. He pleaded for immediate action, urging authorities to establish additional security checkpoints in the area.

The Kaduna State Police have yet to officially comment on the attack or the number of abducted villagers. This latest attack in the Southwest Nigerian State highlights the persistent security threats faced by many communities in Kaduna. Residents are left shaken and fearful as authorities scramble to secure the kidnapped villagers’ release and apprehend the attackers.
