A high-ranking Nigerian police officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police Gbolahan Olugbemi, was found dead in his Ogbomoso residence on Monday (April 1), in what appears to be a suicide.
DCP Olugbemi was attached to the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) in Lagos State. According to reports by local media, the DCP “was found hanging in his home” on Monday.
The reports say the late DCP was a native of Ogbomoso, a densely populated town in Oyo, Southwest Nigeria and had recently returned from Lagos for the Easter celebration. He was reportedly found alone in his residence.
Police authorities have remained mum on the matter since the news of DCP Olugbemi’s demise hit the media on Tuesday morning.
