Nigerians Get Citizen-Powered App to Track Government Performance

The Nigerian government has launched the Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App, aiming to boost transparency and citizen engagement. This app allows Nigerians to monitor government ministries on projects and policies.

President Bola Tinubu’s special adviser on policy and coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman unveiled the app in Abuja, highlighting its role in empowering citizens to hold the government accountable. “It would provide a “strong feedback loop between citizens and government”, Bala-Usman said.

The Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App provides users with access to information on government policies, programs, and projects across various sectors. Users can track the progress of these initiatives, view implementation timelines, and even assess their impact through key performance indicators (KPIs).

The app also features a feedback mechanism, allowing citizens to share their opinions and experiences with government services. This feedback will be directed to the relevant MDAs, fostering a two-way communication channel between the government and the people.

The Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App represents a novel approach to citizen engagement in Nigeria.  Nigerians will be watching closely to see if this app bridges the gap between them and their government.
